Ep. 188: Techno Tyrants (Ft. Edward Ongweso Jr.)
This episode, we're joined by a very special guest, Edward Ongweso, Jr. Edward is a tech journalist that works for VICE News, he is also the co-host of the new (and very good) podcast "This Machine Kills."
We wanted to talk to Edward about his perspective on the Netflix documentary that seems to be a topic of conversation right now "The Social Dilemma." The documentary attempts to diagnose problems in the tech industry as defined by-- who else -- tech industry professionals. The end result is an hour and a half of social media radicalization and consumer discipline, the solution to which is apparently "no screen time before bed."
We also played our Control/Alt/Delete with Edward, as we continue to figure out what platforms will and won't exist under socialism and what they might look like.
