Ep. 157: Rootin' Tootin' Texas Union (Ft. Mia Ibarra & Amanda Posson)
This week we're joined by two workers that recently helped win recognition for their union in the Lone Star State. Mia Ibarra and Amanda Posson are joining us to tell us about CPPP United, affiliated with the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union (IFPTE Local 70) that represents workers at the Austin-based Center for Public Policy Priorities.
We talk about some of the contradictions of trying to counter neoliberalism from within the "nonprofit industrial complex" and how unions can play a role in helping direct capital typically laundered into such structures.
